KAMPALA. URA Ladies defender Angel Gloria Nakanwagi says her Woman of the Match award will motivate her to work harder towards her personal targets.

Nakanwagi earned the accolade after URA beat She Corporate 2-0 in the Finance Trust Bank Fufa Women Super League at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The November 7 victory marked URA’s third win in six matches during their debut top-flight season, with all three coming at home.

Namuleme opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before Kyokushaba doubled the advantage in the 85th to secure maximum points.

Speaking after the encounter, Nakanwagi acknowledged the challenge posed by She Corporate and expressed gratitude for her team’s ability to find a breakthrough.

“It was a bit intense. I thank God that we managed to win, although it wasn’t easy. He helped us create chances, and we managed to get the victory,” she said.

The defender believes the individual recognition provides fresh encouragement as she pursues her targets and helps URA climb the standings.

“The Woman of the Match award gives me the morale to work harder so that I can achieve my targets.”

“This win also boosts the team as we work towards getting to the top of the table,” Nakanwagi added.

URA’s strong home form began with a 2-0 victory over She MAK, with Nakigozi scoring in the 22nd minute and Shafiga adding the second in the 34th.

They followed that with a 1-0 win over Rines SS Women, secured by Shamsa Najjuma’s decisive strike in the 77th minute.

The result against She Corporate means URA have scored five goals without conceding across their three home victories this season.

Maintaining that home form and finding greater consistency elsewhere will be central to their ambitions as their maiden top-flight campaign progresses.
