Kitara FC have received a significant technical boost ahead of Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup return leg against Mogadishu City Club in Hoima.
George William Lutalo, Andy Lule and Hassan Mubiru are among Kitara technical staff members cleared to sit on the bench for Saturday’s encounter.
However, head coach Wasswa Bbosa remains uncleared and will not take his place on the technical bench at Hoima City Stadium.
The development gives Kitara considerably more technical support after clearance problems disrupted preparations for Sunday’s opening leg against the Somali champions.
That first leg started more than 30 minutes behind schedule after Kitara encountered problems clearing members of their technical staff with CAF.
Lutalo and Lule were eventually cleared to handle the team, while Bbosa and several other technical staff members remained unavailable from the bench.
Kitara recovered from conceding first to claim a 2-1 victory, with Jimmy Kalema scoring twice during a quick first-half turnaround.
The latest clearances should provide Kitara with greater technical stability as they attempt to protect their narrow advantage during Saturday’s return fixture.
Mubiru’s clearance also increases the number of experienced coaches available to influence decisions from the technical area during the decisive second leg.
Bbosa’s continued absence means Kitara will again navigate a continental fixture without their head coach operating directly from the technical bench.
Kitara effectively carry a 2-1 advantage into the second leg, although CAF officially recorded Sunday’s fixture as Mogadishu City’s home match.
Victory or a draw on Saturday would send Kitara through to the next round as they continue their second campaign in continental football.
Mogadishu City, meanwhile, need to overturn the deficit after Akram Ilyaas scored their only goal during Sunday’s opening encounter.
The return leg will again be played at Hoima City Stadium on Saturday, September 12, with Kitara seeking another continental victory in Bunyoro.
